Board of directors

The current Board of Directors of EMES is composed of 15 members who were elected in November 2023 in the course of the third open member election of the Network.

The first open election took place in October 2015 and it marked the completion of the implementation of the 2013-2015 strategic planning process. This process began in 2011 and resulted in the 1st strategic plan (2013-2015) largely based on the enlargement of the membership to the international community of researchers on social enterprise and the third sector. The second open elections took place in 2019 and the third election process in 2023.

Regarding the composition of the Board, as explained in the bylaws, institutional members have a majority of seats in the Board but the other two categories of individual members (researchers and PhD students) also have representatives appointed to the Board.

The EMES Board meets at least twice a year face-to-face and it began to meet monthly virtually to discuss issues related with strategic issues and to monitor the progress of the Network.
